The MTV Video Music Awards metaphorically vomited on TV screens and laptop live-streams Sunday night, yet we can't stop talking about the spectacle, and of course, laughing at the ensuing memes.

Miley Cyrus' outrageous performance with Robin Thicke launched much discussion over what the pop industry is trying to do, and how it's changed over the years.
